Chamber Ag Breakfast Benefits Community Organizations

In a collaborative effort to strengthen our community, the Greensburg Decatur County Chamber of Commerce and Decatur County Farm Bureau proudly joined forces to support four essential organizations. Following the success of the Ag Day Breakfast, jointly hosted by both organizations, they presented donation checks to the Greensburg Community High School’s FFA Chapter, North Decatur High School’s FFA Chapter, South Decatur High School’s FFA Chapter, and Greensburg Meals on Wheels.

The Ag Day Breakfast, held on February 24th, 2024, served as a rallying point for farmers, businesses, and community members to celebrate the agricultural heritage of Decatur County. Featuring distinguished guest speaker Hunter Smith, former NFL player and renowned advocate for agriculture, the event provided insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and a breakfast, highlighting the vital role of agriculture in our community.

Recognizing the invaluable contributions of the three local FFA Chapters and Greensburg Meals on Wheels, the GDC Chamber of Commerce and Decatur County Farm Bureau were pleased to present donations to support their impactful work in our community.

GCHS’s FFA Chapter, NDHS’s FFA Chapter, and SDHS’s FFA Chapter each received $500 to further their missions of providing agricultural education, leadership development, and hands-on experiences for youth. These donations will empower the FFA Chapters to continue nurturing the next generation of agricultural leaders in our community.

Additionally, Greensburg Meals on Wheels received $1000 to bolster its efforts in delivering nutritious meals and companionship to homebound seniors. This donation will enable Meals on Wheels to further expand its reach and provide essential support to vulnerable individuals in Decatur County.
