City of Greensburg Board of Aviation Commission Meeting

The City of Greensburg Board of Aviation Commissioners met on March 7, 2024, at 6:00 pm. The meeting was called to order. Roll call was called. The agenda was approved after being amended. The meeting minutes from February 8. 2024 were approved.

Jon Dooley gave the financial report. Current amounts in the Airport funds.

Airport Improvement -$153,857.14

Rotary Fuel Account $159,760.03

Airport Operating Account $435,011.89

JCB Bank account $602.00

The total balance of all accounts $441,516.78

Jerry Scheidler and John Feister were not in attendance due to another meeting that they were attending.

The next topic was Solar Eclipse parking for aircraft. The board discussed rather to charge for parking or not. It was voted on and approved to allow free parking for aircraft because collecting the payments and the logistics do not outweigh the possible revenue. There will be a sign put up asking all aircraft to park in the grass area.

The board approved the payment of all bills.

Currently, the board has 8 people on a hanger waiting list. The board is researching building a hanger, possibly a 10-hangar building. They are also looking into financing options if they are going to build a 10-hangar building. The board agrees that it all comes down to the cost of the project and if they can cover it or finance it. Also what they can lease the hangar out for will weigh into the conversation.

The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be on April 4, 2024, at 6:00 pm.
