Decatur County Area Plan Commission

The Decatur County Area Plan Commission met on Wednesday.

Jacob and Sara Driver requested to subdivide 2.99 acres out of 138.73 acres and rezone that 2.99 acres from an A-1 to an A-2 zoning classification for a single family detached dwelling. The drainage goes into the pond recently built behind where the house will be. The property is owned by David and Rebecca Mobley in Clay Township. Petition 2021-3 was approved.

Jessie Singh requested to rezone 1/2 acre from an A-1 to a B-2 zoning classification to open a liquor store. The half they would like to rezone currently has a barn constructed on it, which will become the liquor store. It meets all setback requirements for the rezone. The property is owned by the petitioner in St. Paul, Adams Township. Petition 2021-04 was approved.

Derek and Jessica Hunter requested to subdivide 5.0 acres out of 40 acres and rezone 2.99 acres out of the 5 acres from an A-1 to an A-2 zoning classification for a single family detached dwelling. They would like to build their forever home on her families property. The property is owned by the Riedeman Family in Marion Township. Petition 2021-5 was approved.

Kevin Schott requested to subdivide 61 acres out of 120.034 acres and rezone 2.99 acres out of that 61 acres from an A-1 to an A-2 zoning classification for a single family detached dwelling. Schott lives in Indianapolis and plans to build a pole barn and a small 1 bedroom and bathroom on the property. The property is owned by Calvin Tipton in Fugit Township. Petition 2021-6 was approved.

There was a discussion on solar and wind energy and creating an ordinance for those.
