The Decatur County Commissioners met on Monday. The board approved the claims.
Mark Mohr gave an update. Globe Asphalt finished the paving on N CR 880 E and it turned out good. They have discussed the close out letter that needs to be turned into INDOT for the Community Crossing Matching Grants. Everything else has been submitted to INDOT. Between S CR 550 E and N CR 600 E there is an old, rusted out culvert that needs to be worked on. They are nearing the end of the bridge project on Washington Street and are looking at a final date of November 1.
Kenny Buening gave an update. There have been 50 building inspections, 8 new building permits/plan reviews, 1 complaint about a screen being added to a porch, and 1 red tag on a final inspection, which they plan to correct.
Erika Free presented the signature page of the radio purchase contract to the board. All of the funds were approved through the ARP funds and the county and city split the cost 50/50. The cost of the radios did end up being a bit lower than the approved cost. This was approved.
Wednesday, October 20 is National support your chamber of commerce day. They requested that the commissioners give a proclamation. The city has agreed to give a proclamation as well. This was approved. There will be a ribbon cutting at the Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday as well.
October 24 is World Polio Day. The rotary club requested to put purple lights in the clock tower to show their support. This was approved.
The train from Cincinnati that arrived last May will be making a return trip on October 30. Main Street Greensburg requested that the courthouse restrooms be open to the public that day and that they have access to use the courthouse lawn. This was approved.
