Decatur County Recorder’s Office is reaching out to all Veterans regarding DD214 forms

The Decatur County Recorder’s Office will record all Veteran’s Military Discharge Papers (DD214) and will provide a copy of those recorded to the Veteran, free of charge.   DD214 Direct is an online company that is charging veterans for recording and copies of their DD214.  These forms are confidential and not public knowledge.  There are requirements to be met prior to receiving a copy of someone’s DD214 and we take those seriously.   Any veteran with questions may call the Decatur County Recorder’s Office at 812-663-4681 or call our county Veteran Services Office at 812-663-3161.  Thank you for your service.
