Greensburg Water Board

The Greensburg Water Board met on Tuesday.

This month’s employee recognition went to Chris Chapman. They started in 1998 at the water plant and have been the safety coordinator for the water department for around 5 years. They bring a lot of knowledge and dedication to the job even after 23 years. Their favorite part about their job is the people who are always great to work with and they all work well together. The board appreciated his positive attitude and thanked him for his hard work.

Darren Burkhart gave an HNTB update on the new surface water treatment plant. They are still wrapping up some items and will have 1 final change order soon. There are a couple of leaks that need to be addressed and fixed. They hope that in the next month or two that things will be wrapped up.

The MRO was approved.

The Holland Lease, which is an annual renewal, was approved. The board approved the purchase of an air compressor for $1,599 from Rural King.

The Operations report for 2021 was approved.

There will need to be a truck replacement soon for a Dodge with transmission issues. The truck is a 2000 Dodge which has had its transmission rebuilt once before. They hope to start looking at bids soon.
