HEALTH DEPARTMENT UPDATES STATEWIDE COVID-19 CASE COUNTS

INDIANAPOLIS The Indiana Department of Health today announced that 7,793 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 375,019 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous days dashboard.

A total of 5,910 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 78 from the previous day. Another 297 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.

Decatur County has 1526 positives (30 new) and 8139 tested (85 new)

Shelby County – 2302 positives (61 new) and 12,946 tested (123 new)

Bartholomew County 4006 positives (90 new) and 28,198 tested (256 new)

Jennings County – 1137 positives (41 new) and 6910 tested (106 new)

To date, 2,292,178 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,272,182 on Friday. A total of 4,525,760 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.
