HEALTH DEPARTMENT UPDATES STATEWIDE COVID-19 CASE COUNTS

INDIANAPOLIS The Indiana Department of Health today announced that 5,457 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 392,663 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous days dashboard.

A total of 6,109 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 124 from the previous day. Another 301 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.

Decatur County has 1614 positives (11 new) and 8306 tested (29 new).
Bartholomew County has 4204 positives (73 new) and 28,743 tested (228 new)
Shelby County has 2437 positives (42 new) and 13,281 tested (94 new). Another resident has died bringing that number to 64.
Jennings County has 1213 positives (18 new) and 7112 tested (47 new)
Ripley County has 1872 positives (27 new) and 9745 tested (61 new)
Franklin County has 888 positives (17 new) and 4388 tested (43 new)
Rush County has 731 positives )6 new) and 5286 tested (22 new)

To date, 2,338,308 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,323,969 on Monday. A total of 4,656,827 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.
