New Troopers


Indianapolis, IN –  36 probationary troopers graduated from the 80th Indiana State Police Academy on December 19, 2020. Eight of those probationary troopers is assigned to the Indiana State Police Post in Indianapolis. Probationary troopers now begin their next phase of instruction, a three-month field training period riding with veteran troopers. Field training aims to give a practical application to the training received throughout the formal academy. Upon completing field training, the troopers will be assigned a state police patrol vehicle and begin solo patrol. These officers have already completed over 1,200 hours of structured training in law enforcement techniques and hands-on and scenario-based training at the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy. Their curriculum included criminal law instruction, emergency vehicle operations, psychology, traffic law, crash investigation, self-defense, first responder, and other general enforcement related training.
Brianna Bishop is from Avon Indiana and a 2017 graduate of Avon High School. She attended Indiana State University majoring in Criminal Justice. Bishop currently resides in Johnson County
Benjamin Beyler is from Fishers and currently resides in Hamilton County
Lim Chol is from Nashville Tennessee and is a 2010 graduate of Glenncliff High School. He attended Welch College from which he graduated in 2016 with a degree in Sports Recreation Management. Chol was previously employed by the Indiana State Capitol Police. He resides in Marion County
Erin Fillenwarth is from Indianapolis and a 2014 graduate of Cathedral High School. After high school she attended The Citadel where she graduated in 2018 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Fillenwarth currently resides in Hamilton County
Isaiah Henderson is from Indianapolis Indiana and a 2018 graduate of Lawrence North High School. He currently resides in Marion County. 
Tyler Line is from Paoli Indiana and a 2013 graduate of Paoli High School. He attended Indiana University in Bloomington where he received a degree in Interior Architecture in 2017. Line was previously employed as a police officer for the City of Bloomington Indiana. He currently resides in Marion County
Daryl Smith is originally from Baltimore Maryland and a 2006 graduate of North Central High School in Indianapolis. He attended Indiana State University and graduated in 2012 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Smith currently resides in Hendricks County. 
Scott Fox is from Greenwood Indiana and a 2009 graduate of Greenwood Community High School. He attended Manchester University where he received a degree in History in 2013. Fox is a Lieutenant in the Indiana Army National Guard and he currently resides in Johnson County
