County Line road to close over I-65 near Edinburg


JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind.— The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the closure of County Line Road (C.R. 800 E.) over I-65 near Edinburgh in southeastern Johnson County beginning on or after Monday, April 5, for a bridge deck overlay project.

The bridge is scheduled to close for up to 120 days, through early August, with a detour that will follow C.R. 550 S. to C.R. 700 E. to C.R. 400 S. The $800,000 contract was awarded in September 2020 to HIS Constructors and is expected to be complete by August 28, 2021.Motorists are reminded to slow down, use extra caution, and drive distraction-free in and near all work zones. In 2019, Indiana Criminal Justice Institute reported that distracted driving from mobile devices was a factor in at least 1,263 crashes and three fatal crashes. To make Hoosier roads safer, Governor Eric J. Holcomb signed the Indiana Hands-Free law to reduce distracted driving across the state.
