Scam – Fraudulent Job Application listings

The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office warns residents to be aware of scammers who are using fraudulent job application listings to obtain an individual’s personal information.

These listings pretend to be a local business/foundation in order to convince potential victims that it is safe to provide personal information.  Do not provide personal information to anyone you do not know – even through job sites.

It is recommended that you contact the business directly using their listed telephone number to confirm that there is a job opening before moving forward.

“If you believe that you have been the victim of such an Internet fraud/identify deception, please contact your local law enforcement officials”, said Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Major Chris Lane.
