4 vehicle mishap by North Decatur on Monday

On October 30, 2023 at approximately 3:28 PM, Decatur County Dispatch received a
complaint of a four vehicle crash on St. Rd. 3, just south of County Road 400 N. The
driver of vehicle #1, Luke Tichenor of Greensburg, IN, stated he was southbound on St.
Rd. 3 and he looked down at this speedometer. Tichenor stated that when he looked back
up, he observed vehicle #2, driven by Cody McClara of Rushville, IN, was stopped in
traffic. Vehicle #1 then struck the rear of vehicle #2 and vehicle #2 then struck the rear
of vehicle #3, driven by Joshua Young, of Seymour, IN. Vehicle #3 then struck the rear
of vehicle #4, driven by Rhonda Harmon of Connersville, IN. Vehicle’s #2, 3 and 4 were
all stopped on St. Rd. 3 as bus traffic was being released from North Decatur High
School. The driver of vehicle #2, McClara, was taken by ambulance to the Decatur
County Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Decatur County Sheriff’s Dept. was assisted by Decatur County Communications,
the Greensburg Fire Dept., Decatur County EMS and the Clarksburg Fire Dept.
The Decatur County Sheriff’s Dept. would like to use this as a reminder to be observant
in school zones as students are being dropped off in the morning or leaving school at the
end of the day.
