The Decatur County Commissioners met on Monday. The board approved the claims.
Mark Mohr gave an update. They have applied for 2 federal aid projects- one was bridge 131 and the other was the Park Road Project with the city. Bridge 131 is their first priority of the two. They continue with patching, running the bushwhacker, and doing pipe work on Community Crossing Grants. The board agreed the highway department should use their new property to store pipes.
Krista Duvall presented ordinances 2020-7 and 2021-20. Both ordinances were approved.
Kenny Buening gave an update. There have been 24 building inspections, 5 new building permits, several red tags, and 1 complaint about a trashed yard which will be investigated.
The PIENE annual contract was approved.
The board reviewed the contract for OTIS to do elevator repairs. They received a list of all components for the elevator- most of which have not been updated since the 70s and 80s. The work would require a 100% down payment with a fee of 10% if not paid. The board approved on the condition that they can pay as they normally would.
