Decatur County Commissioners

The Decatur County Commissioners met on Monday. The board approved the claims.

Mark Mohr gave an update. The last few days have been spent snow prepping. They have been pushing the snow back further to make room for more. Drifting snow is their biggest worry and they will run people throughout the night for emergencies. Mohr also gave the board a contract with USI to not exceed a little over $34,000 for a right of way project. This is a joint contract with the city’s sidewalk project. This was approved.

Krista Duvall presented the Schneider GeoPermitting contract to the board. They have had time to look through it since the last meeting. They approved the contract for $35,000 for 3 years. This will now go to the county council to request an additional. A Drainage Board was created. There are 4 members plus the county surveyor. 2 terms will be 3 years and 2 terms will be 6 years.

Kenny Buening gave an update. There have been 27 building inspections, 8 permits, and 1 red tag for building a garage without a permit. The red tag was corrected when they came in for a permit.

The Clerks office requested new heating for their office. This was approved. The OCRA grant for the Covid 19 phase 3 for small businesses was presented. This was approved. 2 payroll vouchers were approved.

The highway bids were opened for fuel, stone, and pipe.
