Greensburg Redevelopment Commission

The Greensburg Redevelopment Commission met on Thursday.

City engineer Ron May gave an update to the board on the Veterans Way phase 2 project status. They have been seeing more activity and, weather permitting, anticipate good progress. The contractor has moved on to starting the temporary paving on the road and has a small amount of storm sewer left to put in. The was an update given on the planning services for the Capital Improvement Plan. The plan is now complete and the board was given a final copy of the report. There was an update on the Indiana Department of Health Preparation of a Community-wide Bicycle and pedestrian master plan. The process is currently going forward and the consultant is working on the data collection portion. There will be a public meeting on this within the next couple months. There was an update given on the status of the Veterans Way residential project. After their executive meeting, it was recommended that the board choose 2 members to form a group to discuss a proposal received. Darren Burkhart and Ken Dornich were the 2 members approved.

Mayor Joshua Marsh discussed the lease of Veterans Way property for agricultural production. The tenants would be the same people who have farmed the land in years past. There is an agreement within the lease for a price per acre if the city ever needs to purchase that land back. This was approved.

There were 2 regular claims and 1 claim for the Veterans Way project totaling in $16,251.59. These were approved.
