Decatur County Republicans held a caucus last night to fill a vacancy on the Decatur County Council. The vacancy was created with the death of Larry Meyer. 6 republican precinct committeemen were eligible to vote, one was not able to be there and another did not vote because he was of the candidates seeking the spot – that was Wade Farr II. Other candidates were Roger Dumond, David Gray, Jr, Ashley Emsweller Hungate, Richard Mays, and Brad Sefton. All had an opportunity to give a pitch prior to the vote.
Ashley Hungate received the vote majority and will serve as Decatur County representative for District 4.
