United Fund recognizes Williams and Cuskaden

The Decatur County United Fund is pleased to recognize our outgoing board member Lora Williams.  Lora and  her husband served as Campaign Chairs in 2013. She joined the board in January 2015.  She moved up the officer’s ladder and served as President in 2018.  She has served on the Community Investment, Personnel, Finance, and Nominating Committees.   She also served on the Renewal and Development Committee to develop the Decatur County United Fund strategic plan. Joane Cunningham, Executive Director, shared ‘Lora continues to be a loyal supporter of the Decatur County United Fund and our community impact work.  She is a community minded individual with many strengths to share.   It is sad to see her leave the board but we know she will continue to do great things in this community.”

We are pleased to announce the addition of Sally Cuskaden to its Board of Directors.  A Greensburg native, Cuskaden has worked for Farm Credit Mid-America for 22 years and is involved with Kingston Presbyterian Church, VBS, and as a Sunday School Teacher.  Her other activities include Decatur County Homemakers Council, Decatur County Extension Board, AOA Sorority, and a GCHS Pirate mom.   She is a North Decatur High School graduate.  She attended Purdue University and received her B.S. in Ag Sales and Marketing.

As a new board member, Cuskaden expressed, “I am honored and excited to join the United Fund Board in improving the quality of life for the families in our community.” She will serve her first term through January 2024. 

Board members serving a second term include:  Amy Bray, Suzanne Horan, and Matt Weber.  Their terms will end in January 2024.

Amy Bray is our current 1st Vice President and will move to President in February, 2021.   She has served on many committees and held an officer’s position for two years now.  She is employed with Delta Faucet Company as a Peoples Operations Manager.  Her experience in HR is a great asset to the United Fund.

Suzanne Horan is moving into her second term on the board.   Suzanne and her husband, Tom, served as campaign chairs in 2018 and lead the most successful campaign to date.  Suzanne has served on the Community Investment Committee, Nominating and Renewal and Development.   In February of 2021, Suzanne will serve as the United Fund’s 2nd Vice President.  She is community minded and willing to lend her expertise in creating positive change.

Matt Weber is moving into his second term and has served on the Community Investment, Nominating and Personnel Committees.  He is a Pharmacist at Decatur County Memorial Hospital, detailed oriented, a professional, and willing to serve his community.

All will serve the United Fund in its mission to mobilize the power of our community to develop and maintain resources that meet human needs.  Locally based and governed by local community leaders, United Fund addresses many needs within our community. The United Fund provides tools and resources to help agencies be successful.  Board governance, networking, nonprofit training, initiative work, grants, and support of staff and volunteers in our community are key to the success for all. The Decatur County United Fund focuses on strong community change and investment for clear outcomes.
