Washington, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Greg Pence (IN-06) delivered remarks at the Thursday’s House Energy and Commerce markup. Watch full remarks here.

“Thank you to Chair Pallone and Ranking Member McMorris Rodgers.

I am honored to be joining the esteemed Energy and Commerce committee.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been one of the most difficult experiences our nation has weathered.

States like Indiana are an example of strong leadership during an uncertain time.

We have been blessed with a governor who has worked hard to keep students in school, small businesses supported, and hardworking families prioritized.

In Indiana we have been able to come together with local governments to help small businesses and reopen schools.

The Hoosier State is a successful example of working together toward the same goal.

Congress has come together six times to deliver relief for Americans. Hoosiers in the Sixth District are better off with the targeted relief both sides of the aisle negotiated.

I wish we had taken a bipartisan approach, because when we come together and give everyone a voice at the table, that is when we come up with the best solutions.

Thank you, I yield back.”
