The Greensburg Junior High Cross Country Teams traveled to North Branch Golf Course Thursday night to compete against North Decatur. Both the girls and boys teams won the event.
The Lady Pirates began the evening with a solid 19-40 win over the Lady Chargers. Madeline Risher led the entire race from the gate as the Individual Champion. Madeline was followed by teammates Eleanor Davis and Sophie Buening for the 1-2-3 punch at the line. All 7 varsity ladies finished in the top 10 earning ribbons for the night.
The Greensburg Gents also had a great night and earned a perfect score of 15 to 48 as a wave of blue dominated the top 6 positions of the evening. Quinton Walker was the leader of the pack from the bang of the starter’s pistol followed by teammates Jackson Tekulve, Ethan Clifford, Mason McNulty, Henry Corya and Brody Sanders with strong races. All 7 varsity boys earned ribbons by capturing 7 of the top 9 places at the finish line.
The Pirate Harriers will compete again on Saturday at Franklin Community in the Grizzly Classic Invitational.
