The Decatur County Area Plan Commission met on Wednesday.
The 2023 APC officers are as follow: President- Todd Mauer, Vice President- Brad Schutte, and Secretary- Sheila Kirchhoff. Brad Schutte was the APC board appointment to the BZA.
Mark & Stacey Watkins requested to “Rezone” approx. 2.99 acres out of 14.0026 acres from an A-1 to an A-2 zoning classification for construction of a single family detached dwelling. They plan to build this home to be closer to their grandchildren. The property is owned by the petitioners in Greensburg, Marion Township. Petition 2023-1 was approved.
Stuart Reed requested to “Subdivide” approx. 5 acres out of approx. 155 acres and “Rezone” approx. 2.99 acres out of those from an A-1 to an A-2 zoning classification for construction of a single family detached dwelling. They plan to build behind the woods on the property because the front part floods. The property is owned by Reed Brothers Farms LLC in Greensburg, Fugit Township. Petition 2023-2 was approved.
Rick Nobbe presented an updated broadband ready statement. The first statement the board approved was not approved on the state level due to incorrect verbiage. This updated version will need to be looked over and then approved to go back to the state. There are currently 75 approved broadband ready communities in Indiana. It is important for Decatur County to be one of these communities for when funding begins to flow for and to these communities for broadband installation.
