Decatur County Board of Zoning Appeals

The Decatur County Board of Zoning Appeals met on Wednesday.

BZA Petition 2022-1 for Nutrien was tabled.

Troy Emery requested a variance in an R-2 zoning classification for the required 15’ rear setback to be a 2’ rear setback and the required 8’ side setback to be a 4’ side setback to build a garage. There is currently a small garage in the location and they would like to build a larger one. The garage doors would face the driveway and the rear would have the gravel that is already there. The Town of Westport had no complaints nor did any neighbors. The property is owned by the petitioner in Westport, Sand Creek Township. Petition 2022-4 was approved.

Nipro Glass requested a conditional use in an I-1 zoning classification to place an electronically changeable message board sign. This would be from Green Sign Co. and would be where the current sign is. The property is owned by Nipro Glass Americas Inc. in Westport, Sand Creek Township. Petition 2022-5 was approved.
