Greensburg Board of Works

The Greensburg Board of Works met on Tuesday.

Jill Pratt with the Decatur County Public Library came to the board to request a road closure for their “Touch a Tractor” event. They are preparing for their Summer Reading Event and this year’s theme is the Bicentennial. They are partnering with the Power of the Past for this event which will be on June 29. The only problem with the request is that technically the road is private property owned by the nursing home. The board approved the closure as long as the nursing home approves.

Jessica Hadler with the St Mary’s Festival came to the board to request a road closure for the “On Eagles Wings 5K”. This will be the same route as in the past. The event is on August 27. This was approved.

Jarrad Klosterkemper with the Tree City Brewery came to the board to request a fence. They want to add an outdoor area with a few sets of tables. The fence would be black aluminum and could be removed. This was approved.

Police Chief Mike McNealy came to the board to discuss road closures for the Community Cookout. This would be for N Franklin Street on June 16 and Ryle Center on October 20. Both events would be from 6-8. There was a concern mentioned about parking and if residents would be able to get in and out, but the Chief said they have it covered. This was approved.

Wastewater Superintendent Zeke Smith came to the board to request a Burke Engineering contract to help with MS4 compliance. This was approved.

Street Commissioner Mark Klosterkemper came to the board to request the disposal of a rusted salt spreader. This was approved.

City Engineer Ron May presented ordinance 2022-01 for the storm water credit manual. This is a part of the ordinance for stormwater that city council has previously adopted. The board stated that they need to be patient and helpful to applicants, as this can be a confusing process. This was approved.

Mayor Joshua Marsh presented change order 16 for building renovation. This is for 3 items totaling in $8,265.74 which is all credit back to the city. This was approved.
