The Greensburg Water Board met on Tuesday.
Darren Burkhart gave an HNTB update on the new surface water treatment plant. They are currently still working on patching the clarifiers.
The Upland Reservoir has been treated and has the best looking water that it has had in a long time. The treatment did work and eliminated the odor. Due to the treatment, they will need both an IDEM and a DNR permit for fishing to continue at the reservoir. These permits would most likely not be approved until late fall, so the board has decided to apply for these permits for the coming year of 2023. This means that there will be no more fishing at the reservoir for the remainder of 2022.
