Tuesday afternoon the Letts FD was dispatched with Decatur County EMS, Westport FD, Greensburg FD, Westport PD, DCSD and ISP to a two vehicle accident in the area of Layton Dr and CR 1100 South. The accident was located at the entrance to the Westport dam. One patient was transported by Letts FD Medics to the Decatur County Memorial Hospital helipad and transferred to IU Lifeline medical helicopter for transport to a Indianapolis trauma center. A second patient was transport by Letts FD Medics to the Greensburg municipal airport and transferred to a second IU Lifeline medical helicopter for transport to a Indianapolis trauma center. Decatur County medics treated a third patient on scene and transferred their patient to a third Statflight medical helicopter that was landed at the scene. That patient was also transported to Indianapolis for trauma services. The driver of the other vehicle involved was uninjured. Decatur county communications handled all the 911 calls, fire, ems, law enforcement radio traffic and medical helicopter response. Sweets towing took care of the vehicle recovery.
