Turf moves forward with an expected completion date of April 1st – no joke!

When Rob DeHoff set off to get diamonds turfed it was full speed ahead. He got AARPA funds from the Decatur County Council and AARPA funds from Decatur County Redevelopment. Funds from the Decatur County Council go towards turning the front four diamonds at the Decatur County Park Ball Diamonds on Park Road into turf. DeHoff said that his goal is to make this the premier complex along the I-74 corridor with the expectation of generating revenue for the county and city. He said that would benefit the complex and the kids of Decatur County.

A ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony took place this week. Featured in the picture is Parks Department Superintendent Teresa Kovacich, County Council Kenny Hooten, Decatur County Commissioner Jeremy Pasel, Softball Association president Sean Mang, Little Miss Tree City, Rob DeHoff, and parks board member Erica Gunn.
