Cathy Irene Case, 75, of Hope passed away at 10:44 a.m. on Friday, December 20,
2024 at her residence. She was born on July 26, 1949 in Jennings County the
daughter of Donald Robert and Violet Mae (Cathey) Case. She was raised in Westport
and moved to Hope in 1982. She graduated from Sandcreek High School in 1967 and
attended Indiana University for 1 year. Cathy retired from Sears in the Sales
Department after 32 years of service. She was a former member of the Westport
Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling, reading and embroidering. She is survived
by her daughter, Tammy (Brian) Shaw of Hope; son, Ed Schwering of Hope; brother,
Larry Jo (Mary Ann) Case of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Erynn (Will) Rose and Evan
Shaw both of Hope; nieces and nephews, Brad (Mindy) Case, Kaitlyn (Jeremy) Kinker,
Chris (Keeley) Case and Andrew Case all of Columbus. She was preceded in death by
her parents and her brothers, Jerry Lee Case and John Robert Case. Funeral services
will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Bass & Gasper Funeral
Home in Westport with Pastor Travis Stamper officiating. Burial will follow at
Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be Monday, December 23, from 1:00 p.m.
until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may
