Jody Lee Coombs, 54 of Ellenton, Florida passed away at 3:19 a.m. on Sunday,
December 15, 2024, at his residence. He was born on May 23, 1970 in Greensburg,
the son of John Wayne & Faith Noreen (Gardner) Coombs. He was born and raised in
Westport and moved to Florida in 2011. He was formerly employed by Delta Faucet
and Lowe’s Distribution Center and was currently employed at Amazon. He enjoyed
attending his kids sporting events and dance recitals. He also enjoyed monster
truck jams, fixing old trucks and cars and Harley Davidson. He is survived by
his mother, Faith Coombs of Westport; daughter, Lynn (Christoph) Broeckers of
Herne, Germany; stepson, Kevin (Alexa) Wesseler of Greensburg; sister, Jaylin
Ann Coombs of Medora; brothers, Jeffrey Wayne (Rhonda) Coombs of West Terre
Haute and Jerry Dale (Kim) Coombs of Shelbyville; step granddaughter, Zoe Capper
of California and a step grandson, Brian Hryb of Westport and several nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Wayne Coombs. Funeral
services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Bass &
Gasper Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Bartlett officiating. A time of visitation
will be held on Saturday, December 28 at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at
1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Following his wishes he will be cremated and
burial will take place at a later date at Westport Cemetery. Memorial
contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Decatur
