Police have issued a rare “Blue Alert” for a suspect involved in a police officer injury. While a Blue Alert does not trigger our state Emergency Alert System, the individual is considered armed and dangerous and media are encouraged the let the public know about the situation and related potential danger. The Indiana State Police department has issued a Blue Alert for Austin Schepers, wanted for the involvement of injury to a law enforcement officer. Schepers, is described as a 33 year old white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 150 pounds, brown hair with hazel eyes, with a tattoo of a cross under his left eye, along with multiple tattoos around his neck, and was last seen driving a silver 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix with Indiana license plate CRT921. At the time of the incident, the suspect vehicle was also occupied by an unidentified individual. The suspect’s last known location is now New Albany, Indiana which is 115 miles south of Indianapolis. The suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous.
