On April 22, 2025, life changed forever for the May family. Samantha Blessing-May was one of the drivers involved in the serious accident that shut down State Road 3. Her three daughters were taken to Decatur County Memorial Hospital, where thankfully they received medical care and were later released. However, Samantha and her 9-year-old son sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to Indianapolis for specialized care, where they continue to be hospitalized.
Their son, a strong-willed and courageous young boy, faces multiple injuries and has a long, challenging recovery ahead of him. Samantha remains hospitalized as well, focusing on healing her injuries.
Meanwhile, Scott May, the family’s sole provider, is now home caring for their three young daughters and making the 1.5-hour drive back and forth to Indianapolis to visit Samantha and their son. With reduced income coming in during this incredibly difficult time, the family’s financial strain continues to grow — medical bills, travel expenses, and everyday living costs are adding up quickly.
