Greensburg, IN – On June 5, 2025, at approximately 2:18 a.m., Decatur County Sheriff’s Deputy Joshua Gaither was completing training at the training site located at County Road 250 W and W Base Road. Deputy Gaither observed a vehicle enter the barricaded training area. Deputy Gaither attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, a black, 2012 Ford F150, and a pursuit ensued. The suspect vehicle then fled the area and led units in a 30-minute pursuit that went through Decatur County and ended in Franklin County. The suspect vehicle then lost control and went off the roadway, becoming disabled. The suspect, Christopher Hoskins of Madison, Indiana, was taken into custody and is currently being held in the Decatur County Detention Center, where he will be held until his judicial hearing, on multiple charges to include felony resisting law enforcement with a motor vehicle, outstanding felony arrest warrants out of Jackson County, Indiana, possession of Marijuana, and numerous traffic violations. There were no injuries in this pursuit, however there was a large amount of property damage to fields due to the suspect’s driving behaviors.
The incident remains under investigation and all parties are innocent until they are proven guilty.
