North Decatur Boys Varsity Cross Country finishes 2nd place at Greensburg, Batesville, and South Decatur

The North Decatur Charger Cross Country teams opened their season on Thursday evening running at Batesville in a triangular meet with the host Bulldogs and South Decatur Cougars. The Chargers came away with a 2nd place finish behind some solid times and great efforts for the first meet of the season. Leading the way for the Chargers was Jackson White with a 4th place finish in a time of 19:12 followed by teammates Harper Gunn (19:48) in 5th place and Eli Weisenbach (20:05) in 6th place. Sam Cathey and Jayden Lawrence crossed the line with nearly identical times finishing in 9th and 10th place respectively in 22:32.63 and 22:32.62 to round out the top 10. Sophomores Logan Summey (23:48) and Clayton Ruf (24:01) ran solid times finishing in 15th and 16th while Evan Cherry, in his first Varsity meet, completed the 5K in 24:29. Teagan Strieker (26:40) and Jake Demitt (31:25) rounded out the finishers for the Chargers on opening night.

The Chargers return to action on Saturday, August 23 at the Jeremy Wright Small School Invite at the Blue River Cross Country Course in Shelbyville Indiana.
