The North Decatur Chargers traveled to Shelbyville on Saturday and competed at the Blue River Cross Country Course in the Jeremy Wright Small School Invite competing against 22 other schools from around the state of Indiana.
Senior Jackson White led the Chargers with an impressive 29th place finish out of 243 runners in a time of 18:59. Harper Gunn (19:28) and Eli Weisenbach (20:03) also had strong performances for the Charger boys as well. A pair of sophomores, Jayden Lawrence (22:32) and Logan Summey (23:42) crossed the line 3rd and 4th for North while Sam Cathey (25:13) rounded out the 5th scorer for the Chargers. Junior Evan Cherry (25:27) continued to show improvement and Clayton Ruff (27:32) and Jake Demitt (30:57) fought hard as well as they crossed the line in the tough field on Saturday.

The Lady Chargers were led by Norah Amberger who finished with a time of 26:15. Senior Ava Lecher had a strong run with a time of 27:13 and she was followed by a trio of Chargers in Olivia Reisman (31:02), Emerson Gunn (31:05), and Lauren Miller (32:37).
The Chargers return to action this week as they travel to South Decatur for a 7 team Invitational on Thursday and finish out their week at the annual Rushville Invite.
