North Decatur Cross-Country teams traveled to South Decatur to compete in their 7 team Invitational

The North Decatur Charger Cross Country teams traveled to South Decatur on Thursday to compete in their 7 team Invitational and both the Chargers and Lady Chargers came home with team championships.

Leading the way for the boys were a trio of Chargers with Eli Weisenbach (18:30) crossing the line in 4th place, Jackson White (18:33 and a New PR) in 5th place and Harper Gunn (18:42 and a New PR) in 6th place. Also finishing in the Top Ten was sophomore Michael Gomola in a great time of 19:48. Four Chargers finished in a pack earning Top 20 finishes with Sam Cathey running a season best time of 21:38 (13th place), Logan Summey 21:43 New PR (14th place), Jayden Lawrence 21:58 15th place and season’s fastest time), and Clayton Ruf crossing in 22:04 and a New PR (16th place). Junior Evan Cherry ran a new PR in 23:12 followed by Teagan Striecker finishing in a season’s fastest time of 25:11.

The Lady Chargers also had a solid day Led by Sophomore Norah Amberger finishing in 2nd place. Ava Lecher crossed the line in 5th place followed by fellow teammate Emerson Gunn in 5th place. Seniors Olivia Reisman came in 11th and Lauren Miller rounded out the Lady Charger scoring with a 15 thplace finish. 

The Chargers return to action Saturday at the Rushville Invitational.
