STATEHOUSE (Dec. 9, 2025) — Communities in Senate District 42 will receive more than $6.6 million to improve roads and bridges through the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program (CCMG), said State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg).
The CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, aims to advance community infrastructure projects, strengthen local transportation networks and improve Indiana’s roads and bridges. Since its enactment, the program has awarded more than $2 billion in state matching funds for local construction projects.
In Senate District 42, the following communities received grants:
- Carthage received $206,428;
- Connersville received $350,005.35;
- Decatur County received $491,348.23;
- Franklin County received $951,431.04;
- Jennings County received $1 million;
- North Vernon received $984,700;
- Ripley County received $974,285.60;
- Rush County received $591,159.20;
- Shelby County received $1 million; and
- Versailles received $68,496.32.
“The Community Crossings Matching Grant Program helps keep roads in Senate District 42 maintained,” Leising said. “I want to congratulate the counties and communities that received funding to maintain our roads for everyone to use.”
Through the program, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs. Counties with populations fewer than 55,000 and cities and towns with populations fewer than 10,000 receive an 80%/20% match, while counties with populations greater than 55,000 and cities and towns with populations greater than 10,000 receive a 50%/50% match.
