The City of Greensburg posted the following on their Facebook page.
With heavy snowfall and extreme cold expected locally over the weekend, residents are asked to move their parked vehicles off the city streets, if possible, before the snow arrives. Moving vehicles off the roadways helps our Street Department clear the roads efficiently and ensures our first responders have safe access to all parts of the city. When the streets are clear of parked cars, the Street Department can plow more quickly and efficiently, but it also connects our emergency services in the event of an emergency. Your assistance in moving vehicles off the streets during any type of large weather event is greatly appreciated by the Street Department and all of our first responders.
We understand that moving vehicles can be inconvenient, but your cooperation makes a significant difference in keeping Greensburg safe and accessible during potential events. If cars remain on the street, your vehicle could become stuck for a few days! We also encourage everyone to stay home if at all possible to prevent additional accidents and packing down the snow on streets. Due to the extreme cold, snow won’t melt quickly and roads will remain slick even after the snow moves out.
