Officials working toward a new Decatur County community pool are proud to release an official project
status and fundraising update. $4.5M total budget has been established.
This includes:
o $3.9M Build-Operate-Transfer contract with Blue Escapes Pools of Greenwood
o An additional $600,000 for locker room rehab, furniture, sail shades, and cabanas $3.5M in contributions to date including:
o $1M from the Decatur County Community Foundation
o $1M from the City of Greensburg through its 10-year lease with Decatur County Solid
Waste Management for the former city street department location
o $1.5M from the Decatur County Redevelopment Commission $188,510.26 in private contributions:
o As of January 26, $94,255.13 has been raised or pledged from the community, including
the largest gifts from The Napoleon State Bank and The Alma Taylor Foundation
o The Community Foundation is matching donations, $1:$1, up to $300,000 through Feb.

o With the dollar-for-dollar match, another $94,255.13 has been dedicated to the project In total, $3,688,510.26 has been raised of the $4.5M goal. $811,489.74 is still needed to fully fund the project.
o $205,744.87 is still available in match for community and corporate donations. Once
matched, a total of $411,489.74 will be put toward the project
o This would leave $400,000 to fully fund the project
The new 9,000 square foot pool resembles the footprint of the former facility. It will include a zero entry
for accessibility and safety, a splash pad to the northeast, a 4-flume slide to the northwest, and to the
southeast will be a family slide for multiple users to ride together.
A completion date of summer 2026 is weather-dependent.
Donations are being accepted online at dccfound.org, or at the Decatur County Community Foundation
at 101 E. Main Street. Over the last month, many donors have shared fond memories of the former Allen
Memorial Pool. Be watching for those stories in the weeks ahead.
