Statement from the Shelter:
As a shelter, we believe in full transparency. Recently we have had a few dogs that have been diagnosed with Kennel Cough.
All of our dogs are vaccinated, but we’d like to remind everyone that vaccines are not a shield. The purpose of a vaccine is to build immune response to common viruses.
Due to the virus, we will be quarantined for the following two weeks. At the end of these two weeks, we will reevaluate the dogs’ health. This means we will not be bringing in any owner surrenders for dogs.
You can still get on the waitlist by calling the shelter so we can get the paperwork to you. If you find a stray dog, please call the shelter ahead of time so we can try to make a plan.
We will not be doing nail trims or microchips. Our cats are not affected by this, however if you have dogs at home we need you to be aware that there is a possibility of taking kennel cough home to your dogs.
During this quarantine we will be deep cleaning every surface in the building and in our parking lot/yards. Please be patient with us during this time, as we are very busy making sure we are killing these germs and keeping the dogs safe.
As always if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us. We are happy to help.
