Judy Maxine (Allen) Tichenor, 85, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
Born on November 13, 1940, in Greensburg, Indiana, Judy spent her entire life in the community she loved. After graduating from high school, she attended beautician school in Venice, Florida. She devoted more than 60 years to her career as a hairstylist, spending many of those years operating her own beauty shop from her home, where she formed lasting friendships with generations of clients.
On January 9, 1960, Judy married the love of her life, James D. Tichenor. Together they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage before James’s passing in 2021. They were blessed with two sons, Jim and Clinton, and took great pride in their home and the family they built together.
Judy enjoyed attending church whenever she was able. She loved playing the piano, singing in church choirs, baking for family and friends, watching The Price Is Right, Let’s Make a Deal, and classic Army movies. She also enjoyed traveling, with Venice, Florida, always holding a special place in her heart.
Following James’s passing in 2021, Judy made her home with her son, Jim, who lovingly devoted himself to her care.
Judy will be dearly missed by her son, Jim (Jill) Tichenor; her granddaughters, Jill (Kenny) Dierckman, Jamie (Jake) Verseman, and Jessie Tichenor; her six great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Marlene Tichenor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, James D. Tichenor; and her son, Clinton Tichenor.
Private burial will take place at Lower Union Presbyterian Cemetery.
