The Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library is working to restore its popular StoryWalk after discovering it had been vandalized.
According to a post shared by the library, staff became aware of the damage on Thursday, July 23, while librarians were preparing to replace the current story with a new one.
During the changeover, they discovered that several of the StoryWalk panels had been vandalized.
Library officials said replacement panels have been ordered and will be installed once they arrive, along with the new story that had been planned for display.
The library is asking community members to help protect the StoryWalk® by reporting any future damage as soon as it is noticed.
Officials hope this was an isolated incident, but say early notification will allow them to respond more quickly if vandalism occurs again.
The Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library thanked the community for its continued support.
