Local author to provide writing workshop to community as part of Indiana Authors Awards’ program
GREENSBURG (8/27/26)— Larry D. Sweazy will provide a public writing workshop at the Greensburg Decatur County Public Library on Saturday, September 5th from 10 AM – 1 PM. This event is offered as part of Indiana Humanities’ work with the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Awards, which honor the best books written by Indiana authors. Awarded every two years, they celebrate Indiana writers, shine a light on the Hoosier state’s literary community and deepen connections between Indiana writers and readers.
Join award-winning and experienced author Larry D. Sweazy to learn proven tips to help beginning and seasoned writers alike build the skills needed to start or finish that special novel at the Adult program, Indiana Author Award’s Sponsored Writing Workshop with Larry D. Sweazy on Saturday, September 5th from 10 AM – 1 PM. Pizza and refreshments will be provided for all who attend.
Karen Lane, the Greensburg Decatur County Library’s Public Services Assistant and organizer of the event, said, “The Greensburg Decatur County Public Library hosts an active writing group called The Writers In The Stacks, which meets quarterly for an after-hours writing session from 5 pm to 9 pm. Due to the success of this group and hosting our first annual Author Fair this past April, we want to help writers in our area hone their craft. With the support of the Indiana Humanities organization, we can make that possible! This writers’ workshop, hosted by Larry D. Sweazy on Saturday, September 5th from 10 am to 1 pm will show our attendees the secrets and tricks to finishing their first novel.”
