Greensburg Tennis

Greensburg was defeated by a very solid Connersville team tonight 3-2. The temperature was hot, and the matches were hard fought, but Connersville was the better team. We played well and battled at all positions, but just didn’t have enough weapons to capture three points. Winning for the Pirates were Max Buening and Jaxson Phillips at #2 doubles 6-4, 6-1, as well as Brody Sanders @ #3 singles, 6-4, 4-6, 10-5. Max and Jaxson were in control from the beginning and it was great to see them finish strong in the second set. Brody started strong, battled back and forth with his opponent from beginning to end and then played a great super tiebreaker to get the victory. At #1 singles, Mason McNulty got beat by a very good player 6-0, 6-1 and Will Weber was defeated as well, 6-1, 6-4. Will played a much better second set, but dug himself into too much of a deficit to win. At #1 doubles, Logan Fisse and Luke Schwering gave it their best effort, but they played a very athletic team and were defeated 7-5, 6-3. Tonight’s match makes us 2-1 in the conference and 5-2 overall. We have the weekend off.
