Greensburg Lady Pirates Varsity Soccer Traveled to Triton Central to Capture a Win.
Several minutes fell off the game clock before Junior Macey Smith found the net from an assist from Senior Kayla Haycock. 10 minutes later the Tigers would score and that would tie the game at the half.
The Tigers fought off several shots on goal by the Pirates until 20 minutes into the second half and Smith would find her second goal of the game. This one is from a deflection off the Tigers.
Keeper Ella Lowe saw 14 shots on goal from Triton and kept all but one off the scoreboard.
The final score was 2-1 with a Pirate win. This ends the Pirate’s regular season with a record of 4-8. The conference record is 0-7. There were three non-conference matches the Lady Pirates were unable to reschedule due to other scheduling conflicts.
The first round of sectionals is this week on Tuesday (10/5) with a start time of 6 pm at Beech Grove. The Lady Pirates face conference rival the Batesville Bulldogs.
