North Decatur Athletic Department Hall of Fame

The North Decatur Athletic Department is proud to announce the 2024 Athletic Hall of Fame class.  Two individuals will be inducted on Friday, January 5th between the junior varsity and varsity boys basketball games.  There will be a reception from 5 to 6 p.m. in their honor in the high school cafeteria that evening.  The reception is open to the public.

The 2024 Inductees:

Sam Field – Sam is a retired teacher and coach at North Decatur.  In addition, he is also a 1971 Charger graduate.  During his coaching career he coached basketball, football, baseball, wrestling, and softball.  He was a part of coaching staffs that earned 3 county championships, 6 conference championships, one sectional championship, and one regional championship.  He also was named the conference Coach of the Year for softball five times.

Jason Kirchhoff – Jason is a 2013 graduate of North Decatur.  During his high school career he earned 11 varsity letters in football, basketball, and baseball.  He was named the 2013 Male Athlete of the Year and also finished his career as North Decatur’s all-time leading rusher with 4,913 career rushing yards.  He was a member of two sectional championship teams.  After high school he attended DePauw University and played football for 4 years.  This past year he was also named as a Decatur County “Top 200” athlete.
