Introduce Blood Drive Initiative
[Greensburg, IN September 1, 2026—] The Decatur County United Fund is proud to announce
an exciting new addition to the annual Day of Caring, taking place on Wednesday, September
16, 2026. For the first time, Day of Caring will include a community blood drive hosted by
Centra Credit Union in partnership with the Decatur County Community Foundation and Versiti
Blood Center of Indiana.
The blood drive will be located outside the United Fund and Community Foundation offices on
Broadway Street, offering residents and volunteers an additional way to make a meaningful
impact. By adding this new opportunity, Day of Caring will now double the ways our
community can give back — through handson volunteer projects and lifesaving blood donations.
Donation times are 11:00am-3:00pm. To sign up for your donation time, visit

“We are grateful to Centra Credit Union and the Decatur County Community Foundation for
their leadership and partnership in bringing this new initiative to Day of Caring,” said Blaire
Hornberger, Executive Director of Decatur County United Fund. “A special thankyou goes to
Bailey Yeager of Centra Credit Union for envisioning this addition and helping us expand the
ways our community can give back. Their commitment to growing service opportunities reflects
the spirit of this event and the heart of our community.”
With the addition of the Versiti Blood Drive, Day of Caring offers an even greater opportunity
for residents to support their neighbors. Whether volunteering on a project site or donating blood,
every act of service strengthens Decatur County.
Thank You For Caring!
