The City of Greensburg Board of Aviation held its regular monthly meeting on August 5, 2025. John Feister of BF&S provided several updates related to ongoing airport projects.
Feister presented Pay Request #3 for FAA reimbursement under the IAP-24 grant, which supports Phase 1 of the Apron Project. The board approved the payment request in the amount of $5,384.35.
He also reported that the airport received funding for the IAP-25 grant on July 28, 2025. One additional grant is still pending, and once secured, the board will be able to move forward with the next phase of the project. A pre-construction meeting has already been held, and the contractor confirmed that if work begins before October 1, the project should be completed by the end of the year.
Board President Bill Ernstes shared ongoing discussions with the Airport Manager about installing a 20,000-gallon fuel tank near the apron to support jet fueling. Feister estimated the cost of the project at approximately $750,000. Board members discussed the potential to reduce expenses by handling portions of the work in-house. The topic will be revisited at a future meeting.
Additionally, the board approved early repayment of a loan to JC Bank, ahead of its June 2026 due date. The 2026 budget was also approved, along with the monthly bills.
