City of Greensburg Water Board Meeting
The Water Board meeting began with the approval of March 4, 2025, meeting minutes.
The board voted to approve the request for the purchase of the new extended cab Ford service truck to be purchased from Hubler Ford for $58,691 minus any trade in value for the 2001 Dodge truck that they will be trading in.
Darren Burkhart provided an update stating the Preliminary Engineering Report for the elevated tank and the water mains was submitted to SRF last week. The Broadway water main the surveyors are scheduled to be here in the next few weeks. They believe that this will take 4-5 weeks before they get that information back to Darren.
The board approved claims. The board signed the Reedy Financial Group SRF Loan Signature. The March 2025 MRO was submitted. Aaron Schwendenmann, Water Superintendent said that things are going well and is enjoying his position so far.
City of Greensburg Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting
Public hearings were held separately for the following petitions-
Tyler Jackson, MacAllister Rental, 1530 W. Veteran’s Way, seeking a variance for a sign. No comments or concerns stated.
Mike King, 125 W. 5th St., seeking a variance for garage size at his residence. No comments or concerns stated.
Robert Carpenter, 1322 W. Daniel Dr., seeking variance for rear yard setback for house addition. No comments or concerns stated.
Steve Freeman, 120 E. Washington is seeking a special exception to operate an Air BNB at that location. No comments or concerns stated.
Once the regularly scheduled meeting began with the approval of the meeting minutes for the meeting held on March 4, 2025.
Tyler Jackson, MacAllister Rental, 1530 W. Veterans Way has received unanimous approval for a sign variance due to the size of the sign.
Mike King, 125 W. 5th St. received a variance for size of a garage at his residence. Board members voting no for this petition were Dick and Allen after discussion about the size of the garage being larger than the home. The home on the property is 797 sq feet and the garage to be built is 960 sq feet. The garage will be shorter than the house on the lot.
Robert Carpenter, 1322 W. Daniel Dr. received unanimous approval for the variance for rear yard setback for a room addition to his home. He will be building a 10-foot addition onto his home.
Steve Freeman, 120 E. Washington St. received unanimous approval for a special exception to operate an Air BNB at that location. This was an apartment before, and he would like to create it as a short-term rental. No calls or concerns from neighbors or the community. To be considered a short-term rental must be 29 days or less. Steve will provide direct management over the property.
