The meeting began with a Public Hearing to review the application for Primary & Secondary Plat’s for Travis Tullock. The request is for the property located at 1627 W. Kole Drive Greensburg, IN 47240. No public comments were brought to the commission. The commission voted to end the hearing.
Immediately following the Public Hearing, the normal meeting was called to order. The commission approved the September 3, 2024, meeting minutes.
Andy Scholle, Land Surveyor represented Travis Tullock at the meeting. He explained that Mr. Tullock was requesting to divide a duplex into two separate properties. Andy stated that this process follows several other properties in town. This would allow for the owner to sell the duplexes individually if the need or want arose. The commission voted to approve the Primary and Secondary Platt application.
Sarah Hamer, Building Commissioner began the discussion of raising the Annexation fees. Currently those fees are $400 plus $10/acre. Sarah said that the state requires for every annexation that is completed that a Fiscal Plan be completed. This Fiscal Plan is the responsibility of the city to have completed and must pay the $2,500-$3,000 fee that is attached to that document. Sarah states that she is not asking for the fee to be raised to cover the entire fee but that she would like to see the fee be more to help compensate for the expense. The commission discussed several ideas of raising the fee. Sarah said that she will create a document that outlines other cities Annexation Fees and will get that to the commission to review before the January meeting. The Commission ultimately decided that they would discuss the fee more at their January meeting.
