The City of Greensburg had the opportunity to host the Small Business Association for a #ShopSmall Walking Tour on November 14, 2024. The morning began at the Branch Gathering House + Coffee House with a brief presentation from local small businesses.
Greensburg has been selected as ‘Neighborhood of the Year’, which is the only city selected in the state of Indiana for 2024.
Those attending the event representing the Small Business Association were Great Lakes Regional Administrator Geri Aglipay, and SBA Indiana District Director Stacy Poynter. Other attendees were local officials representing the City of Greensburg, Main Street Greensburg, Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Corporation, and Visit Greensburg, among other local organizations. Also attending the presentation was a representative from Erin Houchin, Congresswoman’s team.
Before the presentation city representatives had time to speak with and discuss what Greensburg has to offer shoppers during the holiday season and what makes Greensburg a great city to visit, live, and enjoy.
Mayor Josh Marsh spoke about how the city works with the Steller Team to move Greensburg forward.

Stacey Poynter, SBA Indiana District Director said 99% of businesses in Indiana are considered small businesses. He spoke about wanting to do more in Decatur County by providing financing opportunities and support.

Geri Aglipay. SBA Great Lakes Regional Administrator, spoke about the importance of small business Saturday. When you shop small approximately $0.68 out of every $1.00 gets re-spent in the community. Geri said shop small not only in person but also online shopping. Geri spoke at length about counseling and business development being free of charge and urges entrepreneurs to take advantage of the programs.
Speaking during the presentation included Alex Sefton, The Branch- Youthful business owner, Chris Reynolds-First Community Mortgage-Second floor reactivation, Noelle Hermesch- Rouge Bridal-Woman owned business, and Michelle Miller- Pickers Paradise- How to bring customers to a small business.
Following the presentation the group went on a tour to visit Taff Furniture, Mayasari, Game Plan, Jobst Building, Magnolia Mercantile, Tree City Stitches, Alley 1822, and ending with a Heritage Hill Tour with a lunch provided by Langen Meat’s.
