City of Greensburg Water Board Meeting
The meeting began with the normal monthly approvals.
Darren Burkhart, HNTB representative provided an update on the Broadway & 10th Street Project Update. Darren stated that they have received approvals on their permits and that the project was officially advertised for bidding on June 27th. Their is a pre-bid meeting scheduled for July 23rd at 10am to be held at City Hall. Bids will be opened during the August 4th Water Board Meeting.
Darren stated that they have had several companies inquire on bidding and he feels that they will receive a few bids from those interested companies.
Aaron Schwendenmann received approval to contract with Christopher Burke Engineering to perform the bi-annual Upland Reservoir Dam inspection. This is a required activity from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The inspection will occur this fall.
Aaron took a second to thank and acknowledge his crew for their hard work the night before the meeting were they had a water pipe burst.
The meeting ended with approval of the claims.
City of Greensburg Airport Board Meeting
The meeting began with the approval of their prior meeting minutes and the agenda. The board also approved their Financial Report.
A representative of BF&S provided updates. The Apron Project Final Findings Report was completed and submitted. He stated that at this time the board continues to wait for final pay requests.
The representative said that they did submit a pre-application for work on the runway to perform crack sealing. This was approved by INDOT and that they will now move forward with assembling a bid packet and opening up for bids.
The board approved BF&S’s request to sign an agreement for $12,000 to handle the work to be done for the crack sealing project.
Gary Bailey, Airport Manager stated that he is going to be working on getting ropes and barrels up for parking at the fair. He stated that the waitlist continues to be a constant. Gary reported that a lot of fuel was sold last month and that according to available data he believes they are seeing 300 operations at the airport per month.

Board President Dr. Jon Dooley stated that the board had received the resignation of longtime board member Bill Ernstes. Jon stated that Bill had some medical reasons for his resignation.
Dr. Jon Dooley spoke about the dedication and hard work that Bill had put into the board over the years. Dr. Dooley ended his comments by stating “Job well done. I appreciate his efforts.”
The board approved payment of the bills.
