DCUF outgoing board members

The Decatur County United Fund is pleased to recognize our outgoing board members Sue Auffenberg and Taryn Owens. Both have served two three-year terms.

Sue Auffenberg

Sue joined the board in January 2019. She has served on the Community Investment, Personnel, and Nominating Committees. Joane Cunningham, Executive Director, shared, “Sue is a loyal supporter of the Decatur County United Fund. She is energetic, very organized, and willing to lend a helping hand. Sue is a community minded individual with many strengths to share. We are sad to see her leave the board but know she will continue to do great things in this community.”

Taryn came to the board in January 2019 also. She was one of the United Fund’s younger board members. She has served on Community Investment, Finance, Personnel, and Nominating Committees. Taryn served as 2nd Vice President in 2022, 1st Vice President in 2023, and then as Board President of the United Fund in 2024. “Taryn is dynamic and brings great energy to her work. She is passionate about giving back to her hometown and making a positive difference. The staff and board wish Taryn well in her future adventures,” stated Joane Cunningham.

The Decatur County United Fund’s mission is Together Building Hope, Health, and Stability for Our Community. Locally based and governed by local community leaders, United Fund addresses many needs within our community. The United Fund provides tools and resources to help agencies be successful. Board governance, networking, nonprofit training, initiative work, grants, and support of staff and volunteers in our community are key to the success for all. The Decatur County United Fund focuses on strong community change and investment for clear outcomes.
